Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP™)
AKA CHIPP provides weekend and holiday meals for children within local communities and is targeted to be Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date.
Youth Leadership Institute (AKA YLI)
AKA YLI is a youth-led and highly interactive leadership development program designed to empower and engage youth, ages 11-13. We will also provide educational services such as conducting programs, workshops and field trips for middle school youth related to stem, the environment, culture and careers.
Mental Health Awareness
During Mental Health Awareness month, we will use our collective efforts to fight stigma and raise awareness related to depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Chapter Collaboration Recognition Program
This program acknowledges chapters by providing awards to acknowledge and celebrate the chapters’ exceptional impact in their community as well as issue awards that acknowledge chapters that have collaborated to combine their resources and efforts to maximize the impact in their community.
Local Community Service Grants
This grant opportunity is for notable local community service projects completed by an individual chapter or chapter collaboration.

The Bylaws Committee shall consist of the Parliamentarian as Chairman, the Grammateus, immediate past Basileus, and at least (4) four members of the Chapter.
This Committee shall propose needed changes to the Bylaws, examine all proposed amendments and recommendations from members and other approved sources, and make necessary revisions to the Bylaws upon approval of 2/3 vote of the financially active members present.
Two (2) readings of the proposed changes to the Bylaws are required so that changes submitted at the first reading can be put in writing and presented to the Chapter before consideration for adoption.
At the second reading, only revisions to proposed Bylaws changes already submitted at the first reading can be made. Any new changes must wait for a future Bylaws change proposal process.

The Budget/Finance Committee shall consist of the Tamiouchos as Chairman, the Pecunious Grammateus and at least three (3) members of the Chapter.
Develop the annual budget in September, present the budget to the Chapter in October, and obtain Chapter approval in November.
Supervise the operation of the approved Annual Budget.
Investigate and recommend banks/funds for investment of Chapter funds.
Promote support for any current fundraising drive.
Promote Soror awareness in the management of Chapter finances.
Establish financial goals and objectives.
Show the relationship between planning a budget and implementing the budget.
Be aware of rules and regulations regarding non-profit organizations.
Serve at any chapter activity where funds are involved.

The Nominating Committee shall consist of five (5) elected members.
The chairman shall be appointed by the Basileus from those elected.
Shall be responsible for preparing and presenting to the Chapter a slate of nominees for: Chapter Officers, delegates to Boule, Regional, Leadership Conferences, and Candidates for the Ivy AKAdemy Foundation Board.
Notify officers, delegates and committee members of their election.
Notify the Ivy AKAdemy Foundation of the candidates for the Board of Directors.

The Graduate Advisor Committee shall consist of the Graduate Advisor as Chairman and at least 4 other members appointed by the Graduate Chapter Basileus.
Must be certified by Directorate approved Certification Program of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Must have been a member of the Graduate Chapter for at least two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to appointment.
Must be a five-year postgraduate of an undergraduate college or university program.
Serve in an advisory capacity to the Graduate Advisor.
Shall meet at least quarterly.

The Connections & Social Action Committee Chairman shall be appointed by the Basileus.
Shall identify and study local, national, and international issues which impact upon quality of life.
Design strategies for communication with the members regarding these issues.
Mobilize the membership for action to formulate and recommend position statements.

The Standards Committee shall consist of the Anti-Grammateus as Chairman.
Shall be responsible for continual Chapter self-evaluation.
Shall submit Self-Evaluation Forms to the Corporate Office and the Regional Office annually in compliance with Alpha Kappa Alpha National Policy.
Shall conduct officer workshops.
Plans the Chapter retreat at the direction of the Chapter.

The Membership Committee Chairman shall be appointed by the Basileus.
Shall consist of all Sorors sponsoring candidates and other interested members.
Three sub-committees; recruitment, reactivation, retention.

The Chairman shall be appointed by the Basileus.
Maintain a file of all inactive Sorors.
Send invitations to inactive Sorors for Founders’ Day, and other activities.
Call inactive Sorors at least twice a year.
Examine the new financial list in February and follow up on Sorors who have not remained financially active.

The Technology Committee addresses technology issues related to the operation of the Chapters.
Develop and maintain the Chapter website.

The Archive Committee shall advise the Chapter in development and implementation of policy for archival records.
Develop guidelines to facilitate the collection, storage, coding, maintenance, access and the use of chapter holdings.
Recommend policy that addresses ownership, custody and transfer of archival records.

The Basileus shall appoint an auditing Committee at the December Chapter meeting.
Audit the financial records.
Submit a report of its findings and recommendations at the March Chapter meeting.
A non-member of the Chapter will be hired to audit the chapter’s financial records.
Submit a report of the outside audit.
Make recommendations to the Chapter.

Facilitates proper protocol during chapter meetings, conferences, programs, and other public events.
Facilitate proper protocol for visiting International Officers and Regional Directors.

Plans and develops various programs and events in order to raise funds for the IVY AKAdemy Foundation and its charitable programs.
Recommend to the chapter standing rules on fundraising in consultation with the IVY AKAdemy Foundation.
Distribute such rules to the Chapter, as needed, prior to major fundraising events.
When events are planned by the Ways and Means committee, they are executed by the Chapter.
