Since 1946, Delta Zeta Omega chapter has served the San Francisco Bay Area through numerous community service and educational activities. Our signature events and programs include community service and educational activities. Over the years, scholarships awarded by Delta Zeta Omega have enabled young people to pursue a college degree and subsequently become leaders in their respective communities. We are honored to pour into our next generation of leaders through our college scholarships.
Mary E. Carter Clay is an important part of Delta Zeta Omega’s history and legacy in the San Francisco Bay Area. This scholarship is designed to commemorate her impact on education and to celebrate young people whose commitment to their community and academic achievement exemplifies her legacy. Below are the scholarship description with additional information about Mary Carter Clay, the scholarship award amount, and the criteria for eligibility.
REQUIRED MATERIALS
Personal statement: In 500 words or less, describe how you will continue to be of service to your community during your college experience and after you graduate.
Resume: Your resume should include your work and leadership experiences, extracurricular activities and community service for the last 2 years

A current school portrait or headshot: Please do not submit a selfie.
ELIGIBILITY
Be a student from the African Diaspora
Be admitted to a 2-year or 4-year postsecondary/ higher education institution, including technical and vocational schools with preference given to students planning to attend an Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
Currently Enrolled as A High School Senior in the San Francisco Bay Area Five-County Region
Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above, on a 4.0 scale.
Demonstrate a commitment to community service.
Be a citizen of the United States
